42 | Denise | Endometrial Cancer
Denise was diagnosed with endometrial cancer early 2023. After diagnosis, she underwent surgery and has since started daily radiation therapy. Denise is being cared for by a family member; however, they are unable to drive her to and from her treatments. KWF received an application to provide financial assistance for paratransit transportation for Denise. When our team member, Sherri, spoke to Denise’s social worker, she had mentioned that Denise had skipped some of her treatments to date due to not being able to arrange transportation. Understanding how essential these treatments are to battling this disease, we felt that providing a grant to help with her transportation costs was of importance.
With the help of all of our wonderful donors and sponsors, KWF was able to provide a financial grant to Denise to cover all of her transportation needs for the duration of her treatments, as well as to provide her with some additional financial assistance to help lift some of the burden from her life.
Sherri was able to have several telephone conversations with Denise after providing her with the grant, and she was very thankful for everything. She even mentioned to Sherri that she would like to help craft products along with our team to sell at future events. Denise has a big heart and we told her she is always welcome to come help our team anytime.
We thank all of you who have helped us make this grant possible for Denise.
