40 | Steven | Synovial Sarcoma

Steven was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called synovial sarcoma in 2016. He was initially treated with chemotherapy and radiation, followed by surgery. Unfortunately, Steven’s cancer has progressed, not allowing him to return to doing what he loves, as a teacher working with children with disabilities.

Steven’s cancer is inoperable and incurable and requires daily pain management due to symptoms he is experiencing, which has also caused depression and emotional distress.

Steven is a single parent sharing custody of his 6-year old daughter. His application came to us presenting a need for financial assistance to help with living expenses, rent, utilities, groceries, transportation to and from his appointments, prescriptions and medical bills. He has exhausted his savings and has very limited income through short term disability.

Steven is very thankful for the grant that we were able to provide, and we thank all of you who have helped us make this grant possible for Steven.
